Timothy Joseph McCarthy Jr., the son of the late Timothy J. and Mary "Mimi" McCarthy, passed away suddenly on April 29th, 2024, in Providence, RI. Timmy was a kind and caring person who had a profound impact on his friends and family. He was always happiest sharing a story, a good laugh, and brightening up the room.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rogers, and siblings Mary Beth Sowa (Randy), Joseph McCarthy (Colleen), and Carol Wagner, as well as nieces and nephews Caitlin Harper (Timothy), Phillip Sowa (Catherine), and James, Jacqueline, and Meredith Wagner. He also spent time with Barbara’s family, Raquel Rogers, and Ashley Rogers Borghi (Brandon) at Lake Winnipesaukee.
Tim graduated from La Salle Academy, pursued a career as a lineman at AT&T (Verizon), and was a proud IBEW Union member. He enjoyed spending summers at Bonnet Shores, being with his many friends and family, and watching the local sports teams, of which he was an avid fan. Tim cherished his Irish heritage, participated in many Irish events, and traveled to Ireland several times. He found solace in worship at St. Augustine’s & St. Veronica’s churches.
Timmy had many different titles - "Brother Tim”, “Uncle Tim”, and of course “Tim-Bo" - and touched the lives of so many people. It's impossible to fully capture who Timmy was in a few short paragraphs but to say, "He simply was the best” and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
We all seek comfort knowing that Timmy is now reunited with his mom and dad.
