Victor Arias

Victor Arias, 63 years old, of 130 Sterling Avenue, Providence, RI passed away May 29, 2018 in his home.

Born in Oruro, Bolivia, he was the son of Angelica (Rojas) Arias and the late Julio Arias. Victor came to the United States in 1973 and immediately settled in Rhode Island. He worked in various jobs in different companies. He started a small business as a liquor store owner in Providence. He was employed by Providence Place since 2000 as the LAZ parking lot supervisor.

Despite coming from a large family, he always tried to stay in touch with as many of his extended family as possible from all over the world. He enjoyed video recording special family and cultural events, and had a passionate interest in cinema. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces, especially with his grandniece Alexia. An avid traveler, Victor also loved to explore new places and make new friends along the way. He was a caregiver to his mother. More people than we could count will miss his memory.

He was the father of Victor J. Arias and Laura Arias Orellana; grandfather of Adrian Alexander Orellana; brother of Robert Arias and Walter Arias, Blanca Arias de Mercado, Lourdes Arias Gonzales, Aide Arias Gonzales and the late Nilda Arias Anaya. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence.

Funeral will be Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 8:00 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Graveside burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. www.romanofuneralhome.com.

Nacido en Oruro, Bolivia, era hijo de Angélica (Rojas) Arias y el fallecido Julio Arias. Victor vino a los Estados Unidos en 1973 en inmediatamente se estableció en Rhode Island. Desempeno diferentes trabajos para diferentes companias. Estableció un negocio de licores en Providence del cual era dueño. Despues, fue empleado de Providence Place desde 2000 como supervisor de estacionamiento de LAZ.

A pesar de provenir de una familia numerosa, siempre trató de mantenerse en contacto con la mayor parte de sus familiares los cuales residían en diferentes estados, ciudades, y paises. Disfrutaba grabando videos para eventos familiares y eventos especiales. Tuvo un interés apasionado en el cine. Le gustabas pasar el tiempo con sus sobrinas, especialmente con su sobrina nieta Alexia. Un viajero ávido, a Victor también le encantaba explorar nuevos lugares y hacer nuevos amigos en el camino. Se encargaba de cuidar a su mama en sus horas libres. Muchas personas que podríamos contar extrañarán su memoria.

Fue el padre de Víctor J. Arias. y Laura Arias Orellana; abuelo de Adrian Alexander Orellana; hermano de Roberto Arias y Walter Arias, Blanca Arias de Mercado, Lourdes Arias Gonzales, Aide Arias Gonzales y la desaparecida Nilda Arias Anaya. También deja muchos primos, sobrinos, sobrinas, hermanos políticos y hermanas políticas.

I worked with Victor at the mall for the passed 10 years or more he was always smiling even when he was chasing "TailGaters" out of the garage. He always said Hi Amigo and asked when I was going to go to Bolivia with him to party, I will miss your stories and your friendship. RIP see you in heaven.
