William “Bill” Theodore Ozga, 90, of Providence, RI formerly of Terryville, CT passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026. He was the dearly beloved husband of Sharon (Flannery) Ozga with whom he shared 59 loving wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Bristol, CT on September 1, 1936, Bill was the cherished son of the late William J. and Genevieve (Drzewicki) Ozga. He attended Terryville High School, served in the U.S. Army and retired from General Motors in Westwood, MA. He also held management positions in grocery and shoe stores in earlier years.
Bill was someone who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved time with the family, watching the Red Sox, Patriot’s, and golf alongside Sharon, doing word search puzzles every morning, eating out, and spending time with friends. He also enjoyed lunches with his son, Bill, TV time in his recliner, and polish music. An exceptionally talented musician, he not only played the accordion, but could play almost any instrument he picked up accompanied by his beautiful voice.
Above all, Bill loved his family and spent many hours making fun memories with his son and grandchildren in their youth. He had a natural affection for animals and they returned it. He was a sweet deeply loved man whose presence brought immense joy. A fantastic husband, father, grandfather, and dziadzy, his family was blessed to have him and take comfort in knowing he is now their guardian angel.
Besides his loving wife, Sharon, he is survived by his devoted son William M. (Tammy) Ozga, of Providence, RI; his loving granddaughters Kelsey (Shawn) Robbins of Cumberland, RI and Erin (Ryan) Poirier of Bradford, RI; his adoring great-grandchildren Louis William James Robbins and Samantha May Poirier. He also leaves behind his brother Joseph (late Helen) of Terryville, CT; brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Jane Flannery of Bristol, CT; grand-niece Carolyn Wilson of New Britain, CT; and grand-nephew Robbie Wilson of Bristol, CT. He is missed by his niece and godchild Sara (Rob) Wilson of Bristol, CT; and godchildren Deb Johnson and Karen Ginter of CT.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother Chet (late Darlene) Ozga; Grandmother Stella Drzewiecki; and mother and father-in-law Ari and Laura Flannery.
