

Rush, William L., 90, formerly of Fordson Avenue died Monday at The Scalabrini Villa, North Kingstown. He was the husband of the late Dorothy J. (McElroy) Rush. Mr. Rush was born in Providence, a son of the late William A. and Ellen(McKeon) Rush, he resided in Cranston for most of his life. He was a foreman for the New England Tel & Tel Co., for 49 years retiring in 1984. Mr. Rush was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, he was an Army Veteran of WWII, and he received the American Theatre Campaign ribbon with one bronze star. He is survived by two sons, Paul W. Rush of Cranston and James L. Rush of Narragansett, two daughters, Barbara A. Doorley of North Kingstown and Jane M. O'Brien of Narragansett. 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was the brother of John Rush of East Greenwich and the late Doris O'Brien and Mary Brown. He was the father-in-law of the late Edward "Ted" Doorley. His funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 8:45 am from The Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick (Rt. 117). Mass of Christian Burial in The Church of St. Mark, Garden City at 10:00am. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting Hours Wednesday, 5-8pm.
