Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Richard M. and Mary C. (Baptiste) Fox.
Zachary was a campus police officer at Brown University for many years before becoming a Sheriff for the State of Rhode Island for 17 years until his retirement.
Along with his wife, he leaves his beloved children, Cynthia L. Fox, Jennifer S. Fox and Sarah E. Fox; cherished grandchildren, Steven A. Courtemanche, Alanna L. Courtemanche, Olivia R. Fox, Lillian I. Fox and Ruby R. Fox; and loving brother of Gordon D. Fox, Robert E. Fox, Beverly Bates, Maureen Bento and the late Richard M. Fox Jr.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
