

Alfred Allen Heald, 90, passed away June 21, 2016. He was born in Del Norte, Colorado. Preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Anna Rosenburg Heald; father, George William Heald; and his loving wife, Rosalie Lorene Schlosser Heald. Alfred was a World War II Veteran, and he was discharged with Honors on July 1, 1946. He was with the 728th Military Police BN 677. He was also an expert with the M-1917 rifle. His decorations were the American Theater of Operations Service Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, AR 600-68 and the Victory Medal. He worked at the CF & I Steel Mill for 33 years, retiring in May, 1986. Alfred was known as the “FLASH” in the tube mill. He was also a farmer, raising horses, cows, etc.; and he worked in the potato fields. Alfred was a very loving man, and everyone loved him back. He is survived by his children, Leslie, Becky, Marcia and Kerry Heald; grandchildren, Lorene, Darren Heald, Vera Massey. He also had several adopted grandchildren, David Lee, Jolly Casias, Craig (Jamye), Ariel Billings. He also had several adopted kids, Lael Billings, Rochelle Johnson, Colleen Clark, Liz Harpel, Rita Neighbors, Debbie Barnes, Mary Rick, Robert Massey; several adopted great-grandchildren, Tobias Billings, Lilly Martinez, Chole Martinez, Jamarie, Jason Heald, Kalob, Jack Casias, Logan James Billings and baby brother. Alfred enjoyed being in the mountains, fishing in the rivers, beaver ponds and camping up high on the mountain. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday; Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016, both to be held at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
