Amadita (Amy) Sanchez, 95 years old, passed away November 2, 2023. She was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1928. In New Mexico, Amy worked as a seamstress and learned to weave beautifully with a loom. She met her soulmate and beloved husband of 72 years. Soon after marrying, they moved to Pueblo, Colorado which became their permanent home. Amy was above all else, a loving woman who befriended all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. She enjoyed telling stories of her life experiences and was fiercely loyal to all her loved ones, including her Denver Broncos! She also enjoyed bowling, watching game shows, and working on word search puzzles. She was surrounded by her loved ones during her final days before embarking on her peaceful journey into Heaven to join her dear Carlos. In addition to her husband, she was proceeded in death by her mother, Lucy; father, Guadalupe, and brothers, Vicente, Joe, Eligio, Manuel, Waldo, Benny and Tony.
She is survived by her three sisters, Isabelle, Tessie and Angie, and her children: Carla (Joe) Gutiérrez; Gil (Barbara) Sanchez; Arlene (Mike) Aragon; Irene (Patrick) Laydon and Christopher (Linda) Sanchez. She has eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter. Amy lived her life to the fullest, always leading quietly by example and was a true servant to God, family and friends. Her family expresses special gratitude to Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their tender care in her final days.
Services will be at Holy Family Parish. Viewing from 5-6pm and Rosary at 6pm on Thursday, Nov. 9th. Mass the following morning at 10 a.m. on November 10th with interment at Imperial Memorial Gardens and reception to follow.
