

Andrew R. Glaves, 94, beloved husband, father and friend, returned to his heavenly home on July 11, 2016. Andrew was born in Walsenburg, Colo., on Feb. 24, 1922, son of Andrew S. and O’Delia Glaves. He served with the 44th Calvary in France and Germany during WWII as a 50-caliber machine gunner. After the war he returned to Denver, where he studied the arts at Denver University, eventually earning a Master of Fine Arts. He worked for 30 years with the State of Colorado, Department of Rehabilitation. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings. He is survived by Elba, his loving wife of 60 years; five children, Gloria McCloskey of Cheyenne, Wyo., Paula Kelly of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Linda Manders of Montgomery, Texas, Timothy Glaves of Colorado Springs, and Thomas Glaves of Lake Stevens, Wash., and their spouses, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many friends. His passions next to God and family were art, golf, and genealogy. He is warmly remembered and will be greatly missed by many. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 16, followed by service at 1 p.m., both at the LDS Chapel, 1411 W. Fortino Blvd. Graveside services will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
