Andrew James Prutch, 39, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away on May 20, 2026, of natural causes at his residence in Pueblo. Andrew was born on July 15, 1986, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Fred R. Prutch and Janice M. Prutch.
Andrew spent most of his life in Colorado, though his life also took him to Wyoming, Kansas, and even Grenada. He graduated from Highlands Ranch High School and, true to his independent spirit, chose to forgo college and jump straight into the workforce. Andrew built a successful career in the energy industry, working in coal-powered and natural gas power plants. Through hard work, determination, and discipline, he was able to retire at the young age of 35, an accomplishment that reflected both his work ethic and his drive to create a life on his own terms.
Above all else, Andrew loved his family. He was the proud father of his daughter, Allyson J. Prutch, who was the greatest joy of his life. His loyalty to those he loved was unwavering, and his family will forever remember the depth of his care, his honesty, his generosity, and the way he showed up for the people who mattered most to him. Andrew was kindhearted and giving, yet also strong-willed and stubborn in a way that made him unmistakably himself.
Andrew also had a humor that was entirely his own. He could be counted on to make people laugh, often with a quick, crude joke delivered at the most inappropriate possible time. It was part of who he was — unfiltered, honest, and never trying to be anyone other than himself. Those who knew him best will remember that humor with a smile, along with the love and loyalty behind it.
He had a love for golf, travel, and adventure. He enjoyed experiencing new places, making memories, and embracing life with curiosity and courage. Whether he was spending time with family, heading out on a trip, enjoying a round of golf, or simply being present with the people he cared about, Andrew brought a unique energy that will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Allyson J. Prutch; his parents, Fred R. Prutch and Janice M. Prutch; his siblings, Joshua M. Prutch, Zachary J. Prutch, Casey F. Prutch, and Tara J. Whittemore; along with extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
Andrew’s life was far too short, but it was filled with love, determination, humor, adventure, and devotion to family. His memory will live on through his daughter, his parents, his siblings, and all who were blessed to know him. He will be remembered for his big heart, his loyalty, his honesty, his stubborn strength, and the love he gave so freely to his family.
A service honoring Andrew’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Our Lady of the Meadows, located at 23 Starling Dr., Pueblo, CO 81005.
