Anthony Clifford Martinez, 66, of Pueblo, passed away on Oct. 9, 2018 surrounded by his family. Services will be held Oct. 17 at St. Joseph Church, Pueblo. Rosary is at 9:20a. Mass at 10:00a. with a reception afterward at the St. Joseph hall. Anthony was a life-long resident of Pueblo, born Dec 17, 1951 to Tom D. Martinez and Louise Serna Martinez. Preceded in death by his father (1986) and his brothers Frank (1946) and Roland (2003). He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife, Marlene Korte Martinez, married 45 years; son, Jason, daughter, Gina (Tim Stubbs); mother, Louise; brothers, Tom (Gloria Naranjo) and Ivan (Deborah Romero); sisters Phyllis (Herman Sparks) and Deborah (John Yaden); 10 nephews and nieces; 18 grand nephews and nieces. Anthony and Marlene were godparents to Michael Fabrizio. Anthony was a musician with various bands in Pueblo, playing since he was 14 years old. He shared the love of music by teaching many people the guitar, bass and keyboards. Anthony was so talented he received an award at the Pueblo Music Awards in Oct. 2000. He always had a vegetable garden in his backyard. He loved to cook and he and Marlene made the best tamales ever. Living a few blocks from his 95 year old mother, he was always working around her home. Anthony worked 32 years for the city of Pueblo as an Associate Engineer II starting in 1974 until his retirement in 2006. He was so good at his job that the city asked him to come back and work several times after retirement. He loved watching the Broncos and playing video games. Anthony was very much loved by his family and friends.
