Bernice Golubski Yescavage was born in Kansas City, Kansas, January 26th, 1936 to John and Clementine Golubski. Siblings, were older brother Donald (deceased) and younger brother Larry. Bernice passed away April 10th, 2017 at the age of 81. She suffered a stroke.
She was a beloved mother to 3: Dr. Karen Yescavage, (Tony) Pueblo, Colorado, Michael May (Gina) San Francisco, CA, and Sherrill Yescavage Smith (Jim) St. Louis. She had 6 grandchildren: Ryan Crets, Alex May, Thomas May, Robert May, Matthew May, and Hannah May. She also had 1 great-grandchild, Aria Crets.
Bernice lived with Cecilia Valenzuela, a truly cherished friend and companion. They lived happily--and feistily--for many years together out in the country, feeding the wild birds and watching the full moon rise. Bernice left us under the pink full moon of spring.
Bernice was a fearless traveler and adventurer, often striking out on her own across the country, combining visiting friends with sight seeing. When she wasn't traveling alone, she traveled with her younger daughter, Karen with whom she shared many adventures. Bernice had many friends that she made in every place she lived because of her radiant smile and welcoming personality. Her laughter and sense of humor attracted strangers who quickly became cherished and lifelong friends. Bernice's heart touched even those with whom she had brief encounters forever. We celebrate her sense of compassion, friendship, mischief and laughter.
Memorial services will be set for a later date.
Arrangements under the direction of Imperial Funeral Home, Pueblo, CO.
