Beverly Ann (Vanderlippe) Sonksen, 88, died peacefully in her sleep on July 31, 2018, at the Denver Hospice Care Center. She was born on November 29, 1929, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Horace and Pauline Vanderlippe. She is survived by her husband, Leon, of Aurora; Daughters Donna (Donald) Burns of Littleton; Nancy (Tony) Houdeshell of Centennial; Deborah (Mark) Worthey of Colorado Springs; Granddaughter, Denae (Javan) Greeson of Lafayette, IN; Grandsons Capt. David (Maggie) Burns of Fairborn, OH; Jacob Worthey of Portland, OR; Nathan (Brittany) Worthey of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Seth Worthey of Colorado Springs; Great grandchildren Cole and Libby Greeson; Also survived by two siblings, Paul (Ann) Vanderlippe, Etters, PA; and Robert Vanderlippe, Springfield, MO. One son, Mark, preceded her in death, passing in 1977. She was a graduate of the University of Dubuque, IA, and University of Northern Colorado-Greeley. She retired from elementary teaching in the Pueblo District 60 Schools. She was an avid musician, playing in the orchestra for four years in college, one year with Santa Fe, NM, Symphony; and 40 years with the Pueblo Symphony. Her love for music was instilled in her four children, and now in the five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. There will be a viewing Monday, August 6, from 11-1 followed by a celebration of life at 1 p.m. both at the T. G. McCarthy Funeral Home, 329 Goodnight Ave., Pueblo, 81004, with Rev. Richard Calhoun, officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2. p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Grace United Methodist Church, 4905 East Yale Ave., Denver, CO 80222 with Rev. Jeffrey Babb, officiating.
