Beverly Jewel Torbit, 85, of Pueblo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Beverly was born February 7, 1933 to Elmer and Jewell in Pueblo. Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Glen Gerald; daughter, Cheryl Zimmerman; her parents, Elmer and Jewell; brothers, Phillip and Gaylord.
She graduated from Central High School and married Glen Gerald Torbit in June of 1951. They were happily married for 62 years. Beverly retired from School District 60 as an administrative secretary for the Music Program and Junior ROTC in 1993.
Beverly was a life long member of Calvary (Baptist) Church where she played organ and piano, sang in the choir, and served in many other ways. Her passion was teaching children of all ages from kindergarten through college about the love of Jesus and how to serve him. She was a wise woman of God who was loved and respected.
She enjoyed crafts, reading, gardening, sharing her love of music, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by daughter, Glena (Richard) Walker; three grandchildren, Donika (Jax), Aaron (Tarrah), Bethany (Matthew); three great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Bexlee, and Daisy; sister, Sandra (Neil) Doyle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Visitation will be held from 2-3pm on Friday, May 25, 2018. Her Celebration of Life will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Calvary Church on 5 Tulane. She will be laid to rest at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
