Carlos Rafael Perez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carlos, a devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and veteran, on January 1, 2025 at the age of 78. Known for his warm smile and boundless generosity, Carlos brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A proud Vietnam veteran, and dedicated Police Officer for 34 years to the Houston Police Department as part of the K-9 Explosives Team. His bravery and commitment to protecting his country and community were matched only by his deep love for his family and friends.

Carlos Rafael Perez Colon will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his infectious laughter, and the way he lit up every room he entered. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unforgettable memories that will forever live in our hearts.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sonia E. Perez Arieta; his son, Carlos O. Perez; daughter-in-law; Zana Perez, his grandchildren; Christian Perez, and Doria Perez, his siblings, Marilu Colon, Maribel Colon, Carlos Perez and Marilis; and countless friends who were like family.
