Carol Jean Schleich

Carol was born on June 6, 1941, to David and Ada Pearl (Kuhns) Cobb and spent her childhood in Swink, CO. On June 27, 1959, she married the love of her life, Clarence Gene "Slick" Schleich. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion. They made their home in La Junta, where they raised their family before moving to Virginia in 1986. After twelve years, they happily returned to Colorado, settling in Pueblo West in October 1998. Carol deeply missed Slick after his passing on November 15, 2020, but their love story remained a lasting inspiration to those who knew them.

Above all else, Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. While she held various jobs throughout her life, her greatest calling and deepest joy were caring for her family. She had a generous heart, a quiet strength, and a loving presence that made everyone feel welcome. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by her endless love, encouragement, and gentle spirit.

Carol leaves behind her beloved sons, Kent Schleich (Lori) of Divide, Colorado, and Kevin Schleich (Susan) of Pueblo West, Colorado; her treasured grandchildren, Kaycee Schleich (Josh Klugh) of Centennial, CO, Emily Schleich (Andrew Ross) of Highlands Ranch, CO, Krista Schleich of Pueblo, and Andy Schleich of Pueblo West; and her adored great-grandchildren, Wilder, Finley, and Marlowe Klugh of Centennial, along with Baby Ross, eagerly awaited in Highlands Ranch. She is also survived by her brother, Roger Cobb (Sharon) of Reno, Nevada, and by numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Schleich; her parents, David and Ada Pearl Cobb; and her siblings, Alta Mae Oakes, Calvin "Bud" Cobb, Gladys "Rea" McDonald, Don Cobb, Gary Cobb, and Terry Cobb.

Carol's legacy is one of unconditional love, steadfast devotion, and the simple kindness she shared so freely with others. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, but her love and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of her family.

In accordance with Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of her life with only her immediate family will be held at a later date.
