Celia Mary Martinez

Celia Martinez, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025. She was born on December 22, 1929, in Antonito, Colorado, to Noemi Getrudes Valdez and Juan Francisco Garcia.

Celia was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Cecil Martinez; her son, Richard Martinez; her daughter, Christine Doose; siblings Jenny “Mamie” Henderson, Phil (Martha) Madrid, Josie (Bob) Crowe, Sophie Gallegos, and Josie (Jim) Wilder; and her lifelong friend and neighbor, Rama Guillen.

She is survived by her loving daughters Marlene, Sandy (Ross), and Lorraine (Tom), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings John (Addie) Garcia, Laretta (Carlos) Bustillos, Dorothy Sanchez, Irene Webber, Tony (Tina) Madrid, Frankie (Chuck) Veltri, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Celia will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Her home was a place of comfort and joy, where family and friends gathered weekly to share stories, laughter, and meals. Together with her husband Cecil, she created a legacy of hospitality and togetherness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Her memory will be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
