

Seaman First Class Charles Humphrey served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy from 2/27/1946-12/18/1947. He was stationed on Kwajalein Island and had many duties, one of them was a diver who recovered debris from the ocean following the atomic bomb tests. He was awarded the Navy Victory Medal for his service.
Our dad was a hardworking man who had many jobs during his lifetime but his favorite was being a switchman on the Colorado/Wyoming Railroad for 27 years. After his retirement he owned and operated Bait World where he made many friends and would spend hours talking fishing with them.
Chuck had many passions including hunting, fishing, gold panning, rock hunting and raising birds. He would rather be outside with his animals than anywhere else. People would come from all around to see his treasures in his “rock shop.”
Dad was a social butterfly who made many lifelong friend but being around family gave him his greatest joy.
He is survived by his 4 children; Dian Anderson, Rocky (Susan) Humphrey, Mary Ann Valdez and Rick (Debbie) Humphrey. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Chuck is also survived by his faithful companion and best friend, Brownie.
He is was preceded in death by his parents, Leverette S. Humphrey and Flora (Fehr) Humphrey. His wife, Reba M. Humphrey and siblings; Roy Humphrey, Cecil Humphrey, Neal Humphrey, Katherine Humphrey, and Dorothy Dingman.
The family would like to give special thanks to Kindra Geonetta, who kept his house clean and spent time visiting with him. His Visiting Angels, Mae and Aspen who kept him showered and his mind active, his Meals on Wheels driver, Carla who kept him fed and enjoyed walking through the house with him to look at his pictures.
He will be greatly missed.
