

Chester H. Gompf, 88, went to be with the Lord Nov. 25, 2011. He was born in Enid, OK March 16, 1923, the first of six children born to the late Fred C. and Beva L. Johnson Gompf. After graduation from Enid High School, Chet served in World War II in the Army/Air Force. After being discharged, he worked in his own business and then worked for Champlin Petroleum in Enid until retiring. He then made his home in Westcliffe, CO. He is a member of the Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church in Enid. He is predeceased by his parents, Fred C. and Beva L. Johnson Gompf. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary L. Allen Gompf; son, Larry W. (Karen) Gompf of Westminster, CO; daughter, Loretta L. Gompf (Mark) Sieler, Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Melanie and Tim Gompf, and Tiffany and Todd Sieler; and great-grandchild Ghretta Schlosky; numerous foster children; and a vast number of close friends. Memorial service 2pm Tues. at the Sangre de Cristo Mennonite Church in Westcliffe, CO, with a reception to follow. Pastor Max Colaw will officiate. Inurnment at a later date will be at the Ula Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Club America through the funeral home.
