Clifford Arnold Gibbs

Clifford Arnold Gibbs Jr. was born on August 21, 1924 in Bronx, New York. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army 10th Mountain Division in Colorado. He later joined the 11th Airborne as a paratrooper and served in the Philippines until 1945. On March 19, 1949 he married Hannah Untermayer in New York City. Cliff’s love for Colorado brought them back in 1950, when they settled down in Pueblo. Upon coming to Pueblo, Cliff worked for the U.S. Army as a photographer at the Pueblo Army Depot. He then pursued a career in photography as the owner of Babey Elite Studio for about 5 years. He was a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America for over 20 years, while managing and owning several ski schools in Colorado. Later he began a career as the owner of Trail Tex Sales. Before retiring he was a pro shop manager at the City Park Golf Course. Cliff had a love and enthusiasm for riding horses, team roping, hunting, raising and training hunting dogs, fishing, golfing, and cowboy shooting (Turtle). He was a member of both the Eagles and the Elks. Playing cards with family and friends always put a smile on his face. Cliff is survived by his wife of 65 years Hannah Gibbs and their three children George (Dee) Gibbs, Andrea (Warren) Banks, and Jeri (Clint) Smith, along with their grandchildren, Charla (Wylie) Wellborn, Danielle (Mark) Raisler, Cole (Sandy) Gibbs, Tyler (Cassie) Banks, Jaime Smith, Logan Gibbs, Jaclyn Smith, and Luke Gibbs, as well as, their great-grandchildren, Emily, Brylee, Hadley, Nate, Lynzee, and Nixon. We will all miss his zest for life, sense of humor, and eccentric storytelling. He loved every day, his beautiful family, and his caring friends. He now has a whole new audience for his wonderful stories. Cliff, Dad, Grandpa, Gramps, Turtle, we love and miss you dearly. You had a great run and will be missed dearly by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pueblo Zoo, American Heart Association, or the charity of your choice in the name of Clifford Gibbs.
