Cristoval "Barney" Beltran

Barney was a proud graduate of Pueblo Central High School, Class of 1954. He dedicated 36 years of service to C.F. & I. Steel and remained actively involved with the Steel Workers Union Local #2102 retirees. He also served three years in the Army National Guard.

He was known to his family and friends as Barney. Barney was a diehard fan of the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball and softball at Giodone’s and El Rey ball fields, carrying forward a lifelong appreciation for competition, teamwork, and time outdoors. He supported all sports and loved attending games.

Barney and his brothers, Bob and Paul loved golf. They were always seen together, 3 days a week, at Hollydot or Elmwood golf courses. It was funny to watch them argue during their round of golf. Barney would always brag about getting eight Hole in Ones during his playing days. He worked out faithfully, swimming, lifting weights relaxing in the sauna. He made friends with everyone and always wanted to help people, giving what he had in his pocket. He could fix or build just about anything. Barney was so proud of his family, his only son Frank and daughter-in-law Maria. Then came his joy as a grandfather to Brandice (Michael), Melissa (Michael). Great Grandfather to Lili, Royce, Eli and Aria. He loved people and had a compassionate heart and thoughtfulness.

He was kind to everyone he met and to him everyone was a friend. He enjoyed retirement life, always keeping busy with family and getting outdoors. We will miss his smile and strong desire to keep healthy to be a part of our daily life, events and happenings.

Cristoval was preceded in death by Father Pablo Beltran; Mother Ruth Sandoval; step father, Jacobo Sandoval; Brother Paul Beltran; Sister Bertha Mae Macaluso; Sister-in-law Joy Scalese; and Brother-in-laws Jimmy Naranjo, Lucky Naranjo and George Macaluso.

Cristoval is survived by Son: Frank (Maria) Beltran; Granddaughters: Brandice (Michael) Lopez, Melissa (Michael) Deltondo; Great Grandchildren: Liliana, Royce, Eli and Aria; brother, Robert (Lupe) Beltran; wife, Arlene; Sister-in-laws Esther Leiss, Phylis Naranjo and Dorothy Beltran; Brother-in-law Joe Scalese; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many extended family members, and many work and golf buddies.

A viewing will be held at 9:00 am, followed by service at 10:00 am, Monday, August 17, 2026. Both held at Imperial Funeral Home. Graveside will follow with Military Honors.
