Darlene Ann Morrison was born July 7, 1932, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to William Howard Rhodes and Mabel Marie Campbell Rhodes. She was called to her heavenly home on April 4, 2015. She married Glen S. Morrison on May 28, 1954, in Long Beach, California. Darlene embraced the life of a Navy wife, and was at every port that her husband happened to be, even for a short time. By the time Glen retired from the Navy they had moved over 27 times. After their Navy life ended, they resided in El Paso, TX, for the next 26 years. Darlene would joke that someday she might even unpack all of the boxes. Wisely, she never did; and they “retired” to Pueblo in 1995 (and still has packed boxes). During her life she was active in the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, NCO Wives Club, PTA, Baseball, Softball, and Band Boosters. She considered her greatest accomplishments her children and grandchildren, and their stand for Jesus Christ. She will be remembered for her strength, wisdom and faith in everything she did. Darlene is survived by her husband of 60 years, Glen Morrison; five children, Mike of Boise, ID; Jeff (Joy) of Beulah, CO; Dawn Marley (Charles) of Roswell, NM; Debra Morrison of Dallas, TX; and John (Rhonda) of Albin, WY; twelve grandchildren, April (Galen) Wilcox, Ruthie (Travis) Creamer and Matthew Morrison, all of Idaho; Jenni (Jason) Osgood of Laughlin Air Force Base, TX; Julie (Mike) Skillman of Roseville, CA; Joelle (Justin) Conroy of Des Moines, Iowa; Jana (Steven) Hill of Austin, TX; Vicki Marley of Roswell, NM; Sami Jo Marley of Waco, TX; Benton Marley of Roswell, NM; Brad (Staci) Morrison of Thermopolis, WY; Katey Morrison of Greeley, CO; and she is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren. Darlene is survived by two brothers, Larry Rhodes and Lowell Rhodes, both of Arizona, as well as her best friend, Pat Jones. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2015, at Temple Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse through Grandview Baptist Church in Beulah, CO. Online condolences at www.tgmccarthy.com. Arrangements by T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home.
