

Dawn graduated from East High School in 1980. She later earned an Associate of Arts from PCC in 2009, and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science from CSU–Pueblo, majoring in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, and Recreation.
In 1981, Dawn served in the U.S. Army as a Motor Transport Operator (64C). Dawn had a passion and talent for art across multiple media, including watercolor, acrylic painting, digital and film photography, and drawing. She also enjoyed walks overlooking beautiful flowers, and found comfort in favorite films and shows—especially John Wayne movies, along with Perry Mason, M*A*S*H, and Stargate reruns.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Harrison and Jacqueline Cekis; and her sister, Kelly Blackwell. She is survived by her nieces, who were as close as daughters, Jessica (Jesse) McCleary and great-niece, Raelyn; Michelle (Jason) Lechtenberg and great-nephews, Frankie and Leland; brother, Thomas Cekis (Harrison); JT, Angel, Amy, Amber, and Jay; sister, Robyn Trinjastick: Becka, Logan Michael, James (Joseph); sister Mary: Josh and Shawn; Wendy, Celeste, Shawn-ce, Tammy and family and loved ones.
A funeral service will be at 11 AM, Friday, March 13, 2026 at Imperial Funeral Home.
