Deborah was born and raised in Pueblo Colorado. She graduated in 1966 from South High School. Deborah started her career in sales as a candy broker in the early 80’s. It was one of those early sales calls that she met her husband, Glen. Debbie worked in candy sales for her entire career of over 40 years
Above all Debbie loved her family and friends and was happiest when spending time with them. In her youth she loved to spend her summers in Chelsea OK with her aunt, on the farm. During her teen years, she spent the early mornings before school out at the lake water skiing with her dad. Debbie loved the mountains and continued snow skiing well into her 70s. She treasured exploring new places with her husband, specifically camping. Adventures that, for most of their marriage, happened under the canvas of a tent until recently, when they happily upgraded to a camper.
One of the greatest joys of Debbie’s life came the day she became a grandmother. Her love for her family was unwavering, and she poured her heart into every moment she shared with them. She will be remembered for her warmth, her spirit of adventure, and the deep love she carried for those who meant the most to her. She had a special way of making everyone around her feel cherished. She remembered even the smallest details about the people she cared for. In fact, she never once forgot the birthdays of her 17 nieces and nephews, their spouses or their children.
She loved to laugh and found joy in making others laugh with her. She enjoyed playing gin rummy and, more often than not, managed to come out the winner. During COVID, she created a text‑message game to stay connected with her granddaughter, a testament to her creativity and her determination to bring joy even during difficult times.
Her warmth, humor, and unwavering love leave a legacy that will be deeply missed.
Deborah was reunited with her parents, Eugene and Marguerite Palmour. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Glen Chapman; her children Patrick (Jodi) Hayden, Shawna (William) Shaffer, her beloved granddaughter, McKenzie Hayden and her grandson’s Jeff and Corey Shaffer. She is also survived by her siblings, Neil (Sandy) Palmour and Valerie (John Kehoe) Greer.
