Born in Pueblo, Colorado, he was the son of Olive Jean Crump and Delbert Haning Sr. He graduated from Central high school. He worked in the fuel industry starting with the family business, Matt’s Gasoline Pump Repair Inc., and ending his 40+ years in the industry as a compliance officer for CGRS.
He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his two grandsons. He looked forward to camping and family trips, shooting rockets, doing home projects, and most of all being involved and cheering for his kids and grandkids at their sporting events. He was an avid referee heckler, but always the biggest cheerleader for their teams. He was a long-term Broncos fan and enjoyed watching games with his son and family. One of his favorite times of year was the holidays and the traditions that were created around those. He loved to cook, not only for him and Becky, but also for an entire army in typical Haning fashion.
He will be remembered for spoiling his grandsons and his loved ones. He was an outstanding husband, father, son, uncle, and overall a best friend. He always had a smile and kind words to all. He was a problem solver to everyone with a question or issue and the first person to lend a helping hand. He was the ultimate role model and hero to his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Becky Haning; son Nicholas Haning, daughter Megan (Devin) Hart, grandsons Troy and Kace Hart; siblings Debbie (Rob) Gill, Amy Haning and Andy (Kari) Haning, along with nieces Julie (Brent) Firkins, Kristie (Matt) Gettler, Amanda (Tyrell) Mares; nephew Andy Haning Jr. and an extensive extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on November 9, 2024 from 1pm to 4pm at 1212 W. Oro Grande Drive, Pueblo West, CO 81007.
