Cheryl and Family
At hearing of Dennis’ passing, I began looking at old family pictures, and found photos of you, Dennis, and your family. The pictures of both of you as Godparents for our son, are very special. We remember you then and now in your time of grief.
Peace be with you and your family.

I love you so much Dad and miss you beyond what words can express. You were always there for me. I remember you driving more than two hours through a snow storm to pick up our three dogs. I remember the numerous times you drove me back to college super early on a Monday morning, how you would sing Baby Face to me, call me to let me know which roads were closed in Denver or what the weather was going to do, you supported me in good and bad times. You truly, truly shone as a grandpa and I will be forever grateful that the boys had such a fun, loving and caring Papa. Your orneryness definitely lives on in the little one! Your kindness lives on in our older one. You are the strongest person I have ever met, I'm so lucky to have you as my Dad. Thank you for doing all you could to stay with us as long as possible.

Cheryl, my deepest condolences to you and the family. I worked with Dennis at ABEX Corp. from 1977-1985. He bought a set of golf clubs from me. I never did play much golf, and even less after nearly hitting our V.P. R.A. Martinson with one of my sliced tee shots one day. Dennis said he played and would use them. Dennis was a good foreman and got along very well with all the employees at the plant. We also had good times at our Christmas get -togethers and retirement dinners. I always enjoyed chatting with him at St. Therese at the monthly KofC breakfasts. He and Jim Pagano, who I knew from when I worked at Marzolf and Solon, were the cashiers, so to speak. Gave us a chance to catch up. I've worked with a myriad of fellow employees in my working career; including shop employees, shop foremen, office workers, division management and corporate management, as well as with farmers, ranchers, etc. after I left ABEX, and believe me, Dennis is as good, or better manager, human being and co-worker as any of them. But for some reason, Dennis and Jim would not take my IOU for the St. Therese breakfasts. I guess they thought I might skip town. Thought I might add a little levity. God Bless you all. Cherish the memories.
