

Donald L. Shepherd walked through the gates of heaven May 1, 2011 with his family and friends at his side. He was welcomed into heaven by family and friends who had gone before him, including his parents and sisters. His courageous battle with COPD is over and he can breathe and walk with ease. Don was born at the Alamo Mine close to Walsenburg, Colorado on 5-6-1938, and then moved to Pueblo around three years of age. Went to Pueblo Schools and then on to Central College in McPherson, Kansas. Joined the Navy, then back to the CF&I. He started Shepherd’s Insulation in 1966 selling in 1991, but still takes off blueprints for them. Don is survived by his wife, Janet, children, Gerald (Melody) Shepherd of Ogden, Utah, Deanna (John) Disney of Superior, Nebraska, Stanley Shepherd of Seattle, Washington, Jeffery (Clare) Donahue and Bill (Glenna) Donahue of Pueblo, brother, David (Linda) Shepherd of Reno, Nevada. His most wonderful times were the times he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Imperial Funeral Home. Luncheon will be served at the Belmont Nazarene Church, 1702 Bonforte Blvd. for family and friends to visit. The family requests instead of flowers or food a donation be made to National Jewish Hospital in Denver for their pulmonary treatment facility in Don’s name.
