Doris Elaine Lyon, 89 years of age, of Canon City, Colorado, passed away peacefully on April 22nd, 2026. Doris was born on January 3, 1937, in Littleton, Colorado. Her parents were Marjorie “Midge” & Albert “Bert”, Carpenter. She is survived by her sister, Katie Spicer, of Lincoln, Nebraska. She was a true and loving mother to her 3 children, 2 daughters, Debra Rickman, Lori Hofacker, and a son, Jerry Lyon. She was a hard worker all her life, working everything from farm work to retail. She retired at age 66 with full retirement from Kmart Corp. She enjoyed showing hospitality to those she called “friend,” as well as to those who were new in her life. She loved to laugh with friends and family while enjoying favorite meals and family celebrations! She enjoyed singing her alto part during Christian hymn sings until her final days. We will miss her boisterous laugh and silly humor. No funeral/memorial services to be scheduled at this time.
