

Dorothy ”Dot” Richardson, 87, passed away May 9, 2015. Dot was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerry and Lester Grooms; her sisters, Margaret Barrow, Louise Lawrence, Rebecca Jane Heuerman and Rachel Ann Grooms; her son-in-law, Jeff Beeman of Avondale; and her grandson, Jason Martino of Phoenix, AZ. Survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Thomas; one sister, Helen Bull of DeLeon Springs, FL; three daughters, Susan Beeman, Karen (Bob) Leach, Lauri (Ray) Martino; grandchildren, Stacie (Eric) Sedlmayer, Amie (Lee) Bulman, Evan (Amy) Holmberg, Erin Leach, Alex Leach, Jodi Leach; great-grandchildren, Ashley Martino, Jarryd Martino and Renee Bulman. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family and friends who enriched her life. Dot shared her love of music throughout her life, singing with her sisters, her daughters, playing the organ for over fifty years at the Avondale United Methodist Church and being an early member of Sweet Adelines. Dot had a zest for life. She was an avid golfer, league bowler, gardener, seamstress and bridge player. She was renowned for her cooking abilities. Her fried chicken and cherry pie were legendary. A transplanted Southern Belle, Dot never forgot the importance of Southern Hospitality. She never knew a stranger. She supported her friends, especially her Gabby Abbys. The most important things in her life were always her faith and her family. Whether immediate or extended, she loved and supported all.
