Edwin Dean Prophet, Sr., 92, of Pueblo, CO went to be with the Lord & his heavenly family on March 4, 2019. Dean was born on June 9, 1926 in Kibby, OK to Claude & Cora Prophet. He was the 10th child of 12, 3 of whom died in infancy. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Barrow during World War II. After meeting his wife-to-be, he followed her to Canon City, CO where her family resided. They moved to Pueblo after their marriage in 1952 where he began working for Dana Corp. He retired in 1988 after 36 years. Dean was a loving husband & father. He would lend a hand to family & friends whenever it was needed. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Marie; daughter, Deanna Gillespie; granddaughters, Jessica Shahan & Angel Nightingale, 10 siblings & other family members. He will be greatly missed by his sister, Betty (Earl) Fleming; children: Dean (Becky) Prophet; Vicky (Rod) Shahan; Connie (Greg) DeVore; Brenda Prophet; Carl (Lori) Prophet; Cody Prophet; Lori (JR) Patton; son-in-law, Joe Gillespie; 22 grandchildren & numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, & friends. Many thanks to the nurses & CNA's at the Pueblo Villa who cared for Dean. Viewing 4-6 p.m., Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Imperial Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place at Park Hill Christian Church, 1401 East 7th on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Dean Prophet, Jr. officiating. Interment, Imperial Gardens.
