

Walter was born in Red Wing, Co. He lived a life marked by faith, hard work and love for his family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, strength and lasting impact he had in everyone who knew him.
Walter’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, and always making sure no one ever walked away hungry from his home. his faith in the Lord guided him throughout his life and gave him hope and peace.
He is preceded in death by his parents Diego and Lucinda Maes- Garcia. Brothers Jim, Ernest, Joe,Diego Jr, Elva, Gloria, Vicky, Mary, two daughters and a son Elefar Garcia Jr.
Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Isabel ‘Chavella’ Garcia, children Rick (Laura), Ed (Elsa), Debbie, Jim (Barbara),, Ron, Michelle (Gil), bonus son and daughter James (Tina) and Dorothy. Also survived by brother Cruz Helen) and sister Jane(Leonard). They shared 60 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
His hobbies included raising pigeons and rabbits, collecting unique rocks, hunting, fishing, and cooking was his passion. Everybody loved his green chili.
He passed away surrounded by his family. While they grieve his passing, they also rejoice in knowing he is now at home with the Lord.
Celebration of life will be held on July 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Agape Fellowship 611 Broadway with Pastor Larry Ruiz officiating.
