Emilia Ortiz

Emilia Ortiz, 101, from Avondale, CO, born in Amelia,N.M. to the union of Emitelio and Ramoncita Salazar, passed away January 13, 2022. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Carmelita’s, and she loved spending time with her family, embroidering dish towels, making quilts and thinking of ways to make people laugh. She is survived by her children Jose S. Ortiz Jr., Maria Arroyo, Maria (Alberto) Hernandez, Maryann Ortiz and Jeanette Ortiz.; Fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and 3 siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of fifty –two years, Jose S. Ortiz Sr. six siblings; one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law. Services will be at Avondale Sacred Heart Church Thursday January 27, 2022, Rosary at 9am and mass of Christian burial at 10am.
