Emma Mercedes Jimenez, 86, entered eternal life on Nov. 10, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sept. 30, 1930, in Las Animas. Emma was preceded in death by parents, Viola and Jake Gonzales; brothers, Jake and Gilbert; beloved son, Dennis (Conky); as well as many other relatives and dear friends. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 63 years, Max; daughters, Terri (Gary) Brown and Pamela (Chris) Watson; sister, Esther Thompson; grandchildren, Reahanna (Chad) Gonnerman, Jessica (Joey) Puga, Caitlin (Eric) Jimenez, Solomon Clum and Eric (Brianna) Hoyt; and great-grandchildren Gabby, Nolan, Violet, Reyden, Jonny and Syris. Emma was quite the comedienne. She loved to laugh and always had something funny to say. She was always dressed “to the nines” and loved her jewelry and bling accessories. She enjoyed many years of “gallivanting” with Max all over town and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and Cripple Creek. They had a love that was rare and precious and will live on in our hearts forever. A heartfelt thanks to all of her caregivers and medical providers for her care over the last eight years. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at Holy Family Parish. Reception to follow.
