Feliks Speier

Feliks was born in Poland on January 4, 1936 and came to America with his family as a teenager. He worked in the fields in Rocky Ford before coming to Pueblo. Feliks joined the Army for several years and after his honorable discharge came back to Pueblo and got a job at the CF & I Steel Mill where he worked for over 40 years as a millwright. He made many friends that he still had when he passed away.

He met the love of his life and married Sharon Dunda on October 21, 1967. Together they raised three children and devoted their lives to helping others and showing love, caring, and kindness to all. Feliks was a master repairman and could fix anything, he loved to fish, read the bible and cook delicious food for his family and friends. His specialties were fried chicken, green chili, grinders and homemade pickles. Bring your “begging bowl” to take some home, he would say! Feliks loved pastry and it was fine to eat it before dinner. He was generous with all he had and would give you the shirt off his back.

He didn’t tell you how to live your life, he showed you how. Feliks called his friends and family almost every day to check on them and was always worried how others were doing. He was a true gem and loved by all who knew him. Although our hearts are broken, it was time for him to go. Love your family, be honest, kind, help others, and live your faith every day.
