

Florence was the devoted wife of the late Howard Atchley, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family.
Born in Cerro, New Mexico, Florence was the daughter of Ruben and Jesucita Salazar, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her grandson Carlos Perea; brothers, Willie Salazar, Melvin Salazar, Frankie Salazar, and Edna Mascarenas. She graduated from Questa High School in 1964. From an early age, Florence understood the importance of family, a value she carried throughout her life.
She was a devoted mother and wife who warmly welcomed everyone into her home. Her kindness and generosity created a space where family and friends always felt at ease.
Florence enjoyed spending her time playing bingo, working on jigsaw puzzles, camping, fishing, and listening to her favorite music. She found joy in simple moments and cherished the time spent with loved ones.
She is survived by her children: DeeAnn Salazar, Hubert Perea, Ruben Perea, Loretta Mascarenas (Tom), and Ember Peasley (Janet). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Anthony, Chassidy, Michael, Andrew, Angelica, and Kayla; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Florence is further survived by her brothers, Carl Salazar (Rosemary) and Jimmy Salazar (Vicky); and her sisters, Evelyn Quintana (Dan), Elva Sanchez, Annabelle Torres, Gloria Chandler, and Wilma Golder (Victor), along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held on May 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Imperial Gardens, 5450 CO-78, Pueblo, CO 81005.
Florence will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, strength, and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.
