“A champion is someone who gets up, even when he can’t.” -Jack Dempsey
Gary was definitely a champion he worked hard his whole life, never backed down from a challenge, and he never quit. Gary lived a beautiful life that was full of laughter, time with those he cared for and lots of love.
Born in 1960 (the same year as the Dallas Cowboys began, not only America’s team but Gary’s team). Gary was the 4th child of Gilbert and Daisy DeHerrera. Gary graduated from East High School in 1978. Gary obtained his CDL while working for Coca-Cola and 7up and earned several awards for safe driving while working for Ferguson and Rampart. Gary also obtained his National Certification for Pharmacy Technician while working at Star Drug Pharmacy. No matter where Gary worked; he knew the importance of customer service and humor. Those qualities are why he was so proud of his “twelve retirement parties, how many people get twelve retirement parties.” In his free time Gary enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, and having the greenest grass on the block.
Gary is survived by his loving wife- Angela DeHerrera, daughters-Nicolle (Anthony) Mannino, Oqua Amanda Gowin, Natasha & Nicole Hibler, mother-in-law- Donna Sciarrilli, sister-Evelyn Armijo, brother-in-law- Geoff (Telisha) Newman, grandchildren-Christopher, Brighton, Blair, Lexi, Mia, and Enzo, numerous nephews & nieces and his beloved Dachshunds-Axl and Max (aka “the boys”).

He also had many special neighbors some whom we have known more than 30 years- Fred & Tracy Velasquez, Kevin Reorke, Tom Sr. & Vivian Hall, Susan Cotterman, and Jamie, Beth, & Hannah Gaster.
Gary’s humor, personality and heart impacted many people over the years and he was blessed by countless other friendships.
