Born in Pueblo, CO he was the son of Josephine (Welch) and George Boots Marich. He graduated from Central high school in 1957.
Most of all he enjoyed watching his best pal in life, his grandson Cole, play baseball. He traveled with the team to the Field of Dreams in Iowa and Cooperstown, NY. He was an avid Arizona Wildcat’s basketball fan and cheered for a “Cat’s” win on the eve of his passing. If Cole or the Cat’s weren’t playing, you could find him enjoying a cold beer, playing cribbage, telling jokes, and sharing stories with his good friends and family. He and Jen talked daily about the books they were reading together or the latest sports news. His grandchildren made him very proud. Although he worked in many facets of sales, from clothing to liquor, his true calling and passion was sports. He had many fond memories of his years playing softball where he made lifelong friends. His proudest accomplishments however revolved around his work with young athletes in Pueblo. Whether coaching, officiating, or cheering from the stands Tony loved watching young people develop into athletes. He will be remembered for being a great dad, papa, friend, athlete, coach, referee, and umpire.
He is survived by his daughters: Jennifer (Douglas) Sparks, Terry Marich, Stacy (Nick) Ricotta, and Tiffany (Tim) Kerber. Grandchildren: Cole, Kevin (Jolene), Haydin, Kelly, Thad, Dominic, Mary Angela, Kennedy, Delaney, and Jackson. Great Grandchild: Benjamin Owen (Born February 4, 2023). Brother: Ben (Sarah) Marich. Preceded in death by his wife Beverly (Walker) Marich.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 from noon to 3 at La Tronica’s.
