George William Meadors (Bill) 94, of Canon City, passed away on March 14th, 2021. The Funeral Service will be held at 2pm at Imperial Memorial Gardens Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery. Burial will immediately follow services. George was born in Dalhart, Texas on March 5th, 1927. He graduated High School from Denver South, at the age of 17 with an IQ of 127.
Soon after he joined the Army. The Military was a big part of his life during his young years. George married Shirley Workman, and he and Shirley were married for many years. George worked at the CF&I Steel Mill in Pueblo as a Boiler Maker and sold Insurance. He was involved in many organizations such as the Masons, Odd Fellows, Grand Lodge, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Affairs, and Grange. George enjoyed hunting, reading, and photographing wildlife.
George is survived by brothers, Samuel Bird, Ronald Bird, and Arthur Bird, along with many Nieces and Nephews. George is preceded in death by wife, Shirley Meadors, Mother Georgiana Bird, Father Frank L Meadors, Stepfather George Bird, and Sister Pattie Adams.
