George Nightingale, 86, passed away on February 17, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nona, in 2016. He is survived by his sons, George A. (Peggy) and Darryl Nightingale; daughters, Debbie Pino, Tanna (Dennis) Powers; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Kaman. George served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, receiving 3 Bronze Stars. He loved woodworking, and was an avid skier, skiing into his mid 70’s. He retired from the Rail Mill at CF & I. Viewing will be 12 to 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017, followed by the Funeral Service at 1 p.m., both to be held at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
