

Gilbert Jonal Medina, 93 affectionately known as “Grandpa Honey Bunny” of Pueblo, CO went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2026. Gilbert was born January 7, 1933, to Frank and Rosa Medina in Alamosa, Colorado. Gilbert is preceded in death by his wife, Olivia; His daughter, SandraJo; mother, Rosa; Father, Frank; Sister, Gaybell; and Brother, Harold.
His survivors include five children, Linda (David) Smith, Diana Medina, Patricia Chavez, Gilbert (Melanie) Medina, and Larry (Laura) Medina. Grandchildren include Amber Jennings, Joanna Hoff, Christina Garcia, Angelica Chavez, Randy Chavez Jr., Erika Medina, Andrew Medina, and Adrian Pedraza. Several great-grandchildren including Sterling Schaffner, Jasmine Jennings, Joshua Jennings, Paityn Hoff, Colin Hoff, Hunter Hoff, Everett Garcia, Emmery Garcia, Jarred Medina, James Martinez, Jupiter Retana, Jose and Julie Pedraza.
After his enlistment in the United States Air Force Gilbert went on to work in calibrations for the Pueblo Army Depot for 40 years. Gilbert and Olivia loved traveling throughout the country and around the world. He enjoyed working on his Model A and 50 Ford. Family was extremely important to Gilbert. He and Olivia put their five children through college. Gilbert was an extraordinary person and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2p.m. on July 2nd 2026 at Imperial Funeral Home, 5450 Highway 78, Pueblo Co 81005 with Pastor Bobby Aragon officiating.
Reception to follow at the American Legion Hall on West 9th street.
