Gloria Montoya

Gloria Montoya, 78, of Pueblo West, Colorado, peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord on July 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 14, 1947, in San Pablo, Colorado, Gloria lived a life defined by faith, hard work, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry F. Montoya, with whom she shared many years of love and family. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and cherished memories.

She leaves behind her loving children, Sharon Montoya (Tammy), Brian Montoya (Katherine), Larry Montoya and Paula Hebein who will forever treasure her guidance, strength, and unconditional love. Gloria was also a proud and devoted grandmother to Aidan Montoya, Allyssa Montoya, and Sammy Stice, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Gloria was the cherished daughter of Felix and Della Martinez. She is survived by her brother, James Martinez (Marvela). She was preceded in death by her brothers Felix Martinez, Freddie Medina, Johnny Martinez, and Virgil Martinez, and by her sister, Lorraine Martinez.  She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and godchildren.

For 27 years, Gloria dedicated her career to The Children's Hospital, where her compassion, commitment, and caring spirit positively impacted countless lives. She took great pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout her years of service.

Outside of work, Gloria embraced life with enthusiasm. She found joy in knitting and crocheting beautiful creations for family and friends, preparing delicious meals that brought everyone together, trying her luck at the casino, and making treasured trips to Mexico. She especially loved spending time with those she loved, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Gloria will be remembered for her generous heart, her resilience, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, family, and all whose lives she touched.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. Gloria's battle is over, and she now rests in eternal peace in the loving arms of Jesus, reunited with those who have gone before her.

May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

A Rosary will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2026, followed by Mass at 11:30 AM. Both held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
