Harlan Willis Nietfeld, 87, passed Feb. 1 2021, in Colorado Springs. He was born in Atwood, KS, to Henry and Charlotte Nietfeld and raised there. On June 14, 1958 he married Marilea and was blessed with 3 children. Harlan was an accomplished surgeon and did his residency at Belleview Hospital, NYC. He also served in Guam as a Naval surgeon. He finished his practice in Pueblo at Parkview. He and his wife also worked in Africa as medical missionaries for 2 years. Harlan loved his church, Bethany Lutheran and had been member for over 40 years. He also enjoyed sending others to be missionaries. Harlan is preceded in death wife Marilea. He is survived by children Linda (Scott) Carothers, Margaret (Luciano) Martinez, and Stephanie (John) Lerohl; Grandchildren Elizabeth (Clay) Duval, David (Kelsey) Lerohl, Rebecca (John) Leeds, Joseph Carothers, Nicholas Carothers; Great grandchild Abigail Lerohl. Due to Covid there will be a small private service. There will be a livestream available at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church website.
