DeSalvo; in-laws, Phyllis (Leon) Kay, Jack and Jerry DeSalvo. Survived by children, Ronald (Cathy) DeSalvo, Kimberly (David) Howells; adopted son, Ed; sister, Patricia (Paul) Grosvenor; in-laws, Regina, Terry (Joanie) DeSalvo; grandchildren, Tosha Ellis, Steven, Alasha, Patty, Melvia, Jacob, Nicholas, Taelor; great-grandchildren, Gianni, Zooey. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Henrietta was born in Colorado Springs on May 20, 1938. She went to Catholic school, got her Bachelor’s Degree, and was a RN at the State Hospital and Pueblo West Group Home for 25 years. Growing up she enjoyed spending time with her Grandma West in Rocky Ford. She married; and had three children, Donald, Ronald and Kimberly. She lost the love of her life after 38 years of marriage, Donald Jacob DeSalvo, on January 4, 1995. She enjoyed watching forensic TV shows and war documentaries, reading, sewing tea towels; but most of all spending time with family. Playing Poker – if you bet a quarter and she said a quarter more, we all knew she had a good hand. She was an inspiration to many, was disabled for 24 years; and at the beginning of her disability, she started babysitting her grandson, Jacob, at six weeks of age until he started 1st Grade. He’s what kept her going. She also looked forward to Friday night sleepovers with Jacob or Nicholas, and beating or cheating at Monopoly, so they said. We enjoyed many Christmas' and Sunday dinners together. After countless surgeries the past 24 years, each day has been a gift; and we are all very thankful. She was tough as Nails, and will be deeply missed by many.
