Hez A. Salsbury, born December 18, 1932, passed away in Pueblo with his family by his side on July 28, at the age of 91. As a naturally curious man with a sharp mind, love of family, and a wide range of interests and passions, he led a full and satisfying life of exploration and discovery
Married for over 70 years, Hez is survived by his loving wife Ormagene Salsbury (Barbee), his sister Elenora “Sissy” Koehn, son Hez L. (Penny) Salsbury, and daughter Crystal (Joe) Aurand, plus seven grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hez and Helen Salsbury, sister Annalee Helen Salsbury, in-laws Leslie and Waita Barbee, daughter and son-in-law Waita and Don Karcher, and brother-in-law John Koehn.
Hez, a Navy veteran, loved everything mechanical and was a lifelong learner. He retired from CF&I after more than 40 years of service.
Hunting with his family in Saguache, Colorado, was an integral part of Hez’s life. He also enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities. He was active in many organizations, including the Colorado Muzzleloaders Association, Front Range Antique Power Association, Caterpillar Association, and the Ford Model A Club.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 1pm at Imperial Memorial Gardens with graveside to follow.
