Hugh built his working life in HVAC, bringing steady skill and practical know-how to the work he did. In the same way, he carried himself with a straightforward honesty that people trusted—never hesitant to share what he knew, and always ready to lend a hand when someone needed help. His loyalty to friends and family was constant, and even in serious moments there was room for the quiet mischief of a prankster at heart.
Outside of work, Hugh found his greatest enjoyment in time spent with those he loved. He treasured family gatherings, and he delighted in the simple pleasures of fishing and shooting. He also loved traveling in the motorhome, and especially valued the summers at Blue Mesa with Diana—days marked by companionship, open roads, and the kind of unhurried time that becomes a lasting memory.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Lorraine Milyard; grandsons, Kyle and Mason Milyard; and good friends, Rick Torres and Terry Notaft.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diana Milyard; children, Kevin (Fara) Milyard, Mike (Dawn) Milyard, Eric (Megan) Milyard, Melissa (Del) Thornhill, and Dustin (Amy) Milyard; and grandchildren, Samantha (Matt) Fuller, Dylan (Lindsay) Milyard, Alex (Ashley) Milyard, AJ (Dallas) Milyard, Kole (Leigha) Milyard, Makenna Milyard, Myah Thornhill, and Kyla Thornhill.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:30–2:30 on October 3, 2026, at Pueblo West Eagles Calendar, 348 S. McCulloch Blvd., Pueblo West, CO 81007.
