

Irene Diaz Carillo, 93, of Northglenn, CO, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024. Irene was born on February 11, 1931 to Leopoldo and Conception Diaz in Pueblo, CO. Irene obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Southern Colorado State College. Irene went on to graduate with a Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. Irene was a teacher for over twenty-four years. She was an excellent teacher and often parents would want their younger children to be in Irene’s class, too.
Irene was devoted mother to her six children and one of her grandsons. Irene liked to travel with Fred and they went on some trips sponsored by the City of Northglenn Senior Center. Irene was also a lifelong learner often taking classes or attending seminars.
Irene was predeceased by her husband, Fred Carillo in 2021 and her son, Frank Carillo in 2004. Irene is survived by her children: Larry, Jim (Lisa), Chuck (Karen), Barbara (Kevin) & Victor (Terry). Grandchildren: Eric, Maddison, James, Renee, Guiliano, Andrew, Katie, Kelly, Mathew, Timothy, & Daryl. Great Grandchildren: Kiera, Madelyn, Remy, Ruby, William, Cayden, Asher, Emery, Brooklyn & Jason.
A memorial service will be held on January 24 at 11am, at Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5450 Hwy 78 West in Pueblo, with a reception lunch to follow.
