

Jim served 4 years in teh US Navy before going to work for the US Post Office as a mail handler where he retired, but he said that his favorite job was delivering flowers because it made him feel good to watch people light up when receiving flowers. He also enjoyed politics, poker, spending time as a Meals on Wheels volunteer and loved his dog Tyke. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children James E (Jaton) Asbury Jr., Daniel Charles (Susan) Asbury, Debi (Tim) Thielemier, Mariellen “DeeDee” (Bob) Young; grandchildren Belinda, Vicki (Shawn), Brian, Jaymi (Jake), Rob (Megan), Steven (Stephanie), Ryan, and Steve Miera; great-grandchildren Angel, Areana, Isabelle, Waytt, Sam, Aiden, Mya, Maddison, JP, Landon, Baylea, Addy, Haven, Tyler, Colton, Drew, Amanda, Joe, Mariah, Jasmine, Nick, Nicole, Jade, Ashley ; Sisters Marie, Bonnie, Patsy, and Judy; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Bessie Asbury and his siblings June, Owen, Louise, Leslie, Donald, Ken, Doris, Mary Ellen, and Gerald.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SRDA through the funeral home office.
