Janette Marie Stern

Janette Stern, 74, went home to be with the lord on July 16th, 2026. Devoted wife of Richard Stern (Deceased), and loving mother of Christopher Stern, and Michelle Stern, and loving grandmother to Illyana Fowler. Janette was also a loving daughter, sister, aunt cousin, neighbor, friend, and prayer warrior as well as a long time proponent and community member of Pueblo, Colorado.

Born in Denver, Colorado she grew up around the hotel, restaurant and real estate world of her mother and father, spending parts of her childhood in Albuquerque, Glenwood Springs and Littleton where she graduated from Cheyenne Arapaho High School. Her sister Kathleen influenced her to go to college and she enrolled at Colorado State University in Fort Collins majoring in Business and soon met Richard who was majoring in Chemistry. Janette helped him with his English studies. Having spent time in Catholic school during her middle school years as well as her grandmother being an English Teacher she had a strict understanding of Grammar.

After they married and Chris was born, Richard's work brought the family to Pueblo and Michelle was born. While raising Chris and Michelle, Janette and Richard provided a well rounded and broad upbringing. Janette was always pursuing some sort of home education and community experience for them from reading and math to arts and crafts, from singing and dancing, to sports and Jesus at the center of it all.

Janette kept learning and pursuing value creation in many different areas throughout her life. Some of her notable achievements include being a published author, running an internet business retailing herbs she found useful in beating cancer during the 90's. She was the first person to register grok.com and when she was approached by twitter she graciously gave it to them. She was a model landlord and capable property manager doing most of the painting and fixing on her own or with family. She leaves behind antique tables and chairs that she refurbished, craft art decorations that she completed and ceramic pieces that she finished. She was also an excellent gardener and cook with a breadth of knowledge that is impressive in any age.

Janette's hard work, independent spirit and loyalty to her family and to Jesus will be forever treasured and inspirational to those that knew her and loved her.

A viewing will be held at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 28th from 4-6pm The memorial service will be at Christ the King Parish in Pueblo on Thursday, August 6th at 10am.
