

Janice (Muth) Thomas of Lake Placid, Florida, passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 70. Janice was born in Rocky Ford to Wallace and Doris Ruxton on February 21, 1955. She was a graduate of Rocky Ford High School where she met the love of her life, Robert Muth. On January 6, 1975, they married and started building their family. They were the proud parents of Stacey Muth-Buford, Lisa Chavez, and Sherry Muth. Janice worked hand and hand with her husband at Muth Farm Equipment for many years as a meticulous bookkeeper, contributing to the business’ success. As a mom, she was loving, nurturing, protective and a hard-working mother, setting great examples for her three daughters. During her children’s school years, Janice never missed a sports game and made sure to be at each event to cheer on her girls. She was blessed with many grandchildren that she loved immensely. In 2001, her husband of 26 years, passed away.
She was fortunate to find love again, meeting Bill Thomas and marrying him in 2015. After retirement, they moved to Lake Placid, Florida, where they thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company, attending car shows, visiting casinos, and going on boat rides with special friends.
Janice is survived by her husband Bill Thomas and 3 children: Stacey Muth-Buford of Gulf Port, Mississippi; Lisa (Danny) Chavez of Manzanola, Colorado; and Sherry Muth of Rye, Colorado; Step-Children: Ronni Majado, Billy Thomas and Joey Thomas. 7 grandchildren: Aselynn Gauna, Robert Buford, Alyssa Chavez, Jada Chavez, Brittany Miller, Joe Ortiz and Ashlynn Ortiz; Great Grandchildren: Beckham Lopez and an additional great grandson on the way; Brother Gordon (Jan) Ruxton, and her dog Bailey.
She was proceeded in death by her first husband, Robert Muth and her parents, Wallace and Doris Ruxton.
