John Henry Anderson, known to his family and friends as "Big John", was born in a little town outside of Macon Mississippi on Aug. 19, 1926 and passed away April 4, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Anderson and Cooper (Lipscomb) Anderson; and his aunt, Patti Lantz. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Viola; sons, John, Jr. (Marybeth), Randy (Sherrie); seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; Cousin Harry (Francine) Lantz; brothers-in-law, Ed (Marilee) Vallejo and Rudy (Sylvia) Valdez and Michael Vallejo; and numerous extended family. John served in the US Air Force and retired from the Naval Reserve and from the Santa Fe Railroad after 43 years of service as a conductor. He was a member of South Pueblo Lodge #31, A.F.&A.M.; B.P.O.E #90; and American Legion, Post #2. John loved hunting, fishing, traveling, and rodeos. He did volunteer work for ARC for 23 years and volunteered with the American Legion.
