Thank you Mr. Armstrong for fueling the fire of science in my life. You had a gift of teaching for those who were lucky enough to be in your class...thank goodness I was one of the lucky ones!

I met John on a bicycle trip in Austria-Germany.  He was a great guy!  Our trip was back in the 90's and we were only acquaintances from the trip, but he remained in contact for many years forward.  His enthusiasm was contagious!   RIP

A little more than sixty years ago, my class was finishing our junior year at Central and many of us were completing John Armstrong's physics class. I remember my project with Liz and how we went to Engineering Days at CU. Physics was a fun class at Central and I learned that Scientific American existed and that George Gamow wrote some pretty cool books. I don't think I am the only that learned as much from the "extra" comments as well as the extra credit problems as we did from the text and class. It was a year that alerted us to possiblities. Thanks, John. RIP.

John, I remember you fondly.  Is it really your turn to leave us?  I offer a prayer for your speedy ascent into life in spirit ...your eternal life.  You did so well on this earth, you touched many with your extraordinary talent for teaching.  God speed.  Mary Jo Rodriguez

Thank you Mr. Armstrong for inspiring me to pursue my degrees in mathematics and physics.  You will always be one of the Three Towers of Infinite Wisdom.

John was my mentor and supporter in my teaching career.  I am a better teacher because of him.  He will be sadly missed.  My prayers are with his family.
